Cats Eyes for Kids Campaign
As the clocks went back in October 2001, Nationwide Building Society distributed almost 6 million reflectors throughout the United Kingdom one for every primary school child. Because of the success of this campaign and because the Nationwide feel so strongly about road safety, they have pledged to give every new intake child* a reflector until 2010.
We have welcomed the recent news that there has been a significant fall in the casualty rate amongst child pedestrians. The recent government announcement revealed that in three years it has already dropped by 43% against a ten year target of 50%. For information on the government announcement on road casualties, please visit www.dft.gov.uk
Scanglo Limited, have worked closely with the Nationwide to make this happen. This year the Nationwide are distributing up to 1 million reflectors to over 20,000 primary schools across the United Kingdom. You will also find a poster to remind children of the importance of visibility along with curriculum linked road safety work sheets for Key Stage 1 and 2 which are available on - line and can be downloaded by clicking here. Every care has been taken to provide schools with the correct quantity, however if you feel that you have not received enough reflectors for the new intake of children entering your school at Key Stage 1 then please click here.
